Weatherization
Douglas Electric will provide a free energy audit for the purpose
of determining which measures can be taken to make your home more
energy-efficient. If you choose to upgrade the ceiling, floor and
wall insulation of your home, or change out single pane windows
with thermal windows, we can provide financing at only 5% on amounts
up to $7,500 or a cash credit of 25% up to a maximum of $500. To
qualify, either the owner or renter must be a member of the Co-op,
and the home must use electricity as its primary source of heat.
Budget Billing
This special program is for those who want to level out their payments
on their power bill each month, to avoid getting "shocked"
by an unexpectedly high bill in the winter. Monthly payments are
"levelized" so that a reserve is built up during the warmer
months to shave the peaks off your bills during the winter heating
months. Electronic Funds Transfer - Members of Douglas Electric
may now pay their monthly bill through a convenient program that
automatically deducts the amount from either your checking or savings
account. Call and ask for an authorization form if you are interested.
Project Help
Emergency low-income energy assistance program, administered by
Salvation Army, to help Douglas Electric members with a one-time
payment of any heating fuel costs, regardless of whether it is oil,
wood, gas or electricity.
